Keep your devices connected in every room- WiFi range extenders help you keep any device connected.

Big houses and large office often have weak WiFi signals and dead zones where the signals from the router can’t reach. A WiFi range extender comes handy in such situations. They help by boosting the WiFi range.

WiFi range extenders or WiFi repeaters or WiFi signal boosters are a type of wireless repeater that is used to expand the reach of a wireless LAN. The range extender connects wirelessly to the router, picks up the signal and retransmits it.

All too often, the routers supplied by broadband companies aren't quite up to the job. And if they are, the issue instead is that it has to be located right in the corner of the house – bad news for anyone whose bedroom is in the opposite corner.

But there are a few things to consider before you go on to buy a WiFi range extender:

Compatibility – Buy a WiFi range extender that is compatible with the WiFi standard in your home – A/B/G/N/AC. Check what standard your router supports and then buy an extender accordingly.
Single or Dual Band – Certain extenders have dual-band support that cover the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band while others have only single band (2.4GHz) support. The 2.4GHz band has longer range but 5GHz band has faster speed.
Security Standards – It is very important to have proper security in your router and extender to prevent unauthorized connections to your network. Look for latest WiFi protected access version WPA2-PSK (AES).
Ethernet ports – Most WiFi range extenders come with one or more Ethernet ports that allow you to plug in a device with a wired connection such as smart TV, game console, DVR, etc.
