Schools and Colleges in West Bengal could reopen on Teacher Day, depending on COVID situation

The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a press conference on Tuesday, and said that if the COVID-19 situation improves, there are plans to reopen schools and colleges in the state after Teachers' Day on September 5, but classes would be held one day apart.


Schools, Colleges, University and all education institutes in West Bengal will remain close till August 31, in view of the COVID 19 crisis in the State. In the conference, she also stated that a meeting will be conducted by the end of August to decide the future course of action with regard to reopening the schools and colleges in the state.


Educational Sectors in various states have been shut since middle of March. In the midst of the pandemic situation, the results of Madhyamik and higher secondary examinations have been published in West Bengal. But due to the coronavirus situation, the schools and colleges are closed, and the admission process has not started yet.
